On my AMD 64X2 4200+ on an Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe board with dual ATI X1600 Pro 256 cards and LG-DVD ROM and RAMdrives running SATA 2 RAID0x2 striping array and 2Gb of DDR RAM I have gotten the following games to run in Vista x64
Unreal II with latest updates and multiplayer add-on F1 2002 Unreal with 226 final patch (this is mandatory and install DirectX 5) Warcraft III and Frozen Throne with all updates Pacific Fighters with latest patches (must patch in order from earliest to latest) Command & Conquer and Tiberian Sun expansion Starcraft and Brood Wars expansion with latest patch Halflife 2 64-bit patch Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed (have to install under admin rights and compatibility mode) Need For Speed Underground 2 NHL 2005 (some menu graphical issues when starting but are resolved after cycling through) Madden 2006 (runs great in Vista x64, incorrect timing in XP Pro x64 Edition; too fast) Battlefield 2 and Special Forces with European booster pack, patch 1.3 (install as admin and performance is better) Sims 2 DVD Edition with latest patch Dreadnought 64-bit edition Max Payne 2 with latest patch Jane's F/A-18 Simulator with latest patch (install under admin and compatibility mode) Motocross Madness Rainbow 6 III: Raven Shield with latest patch (had to run patch from command line to get it to install)
On my laptop which is a HP Pavilion ZD8080us (media center edition) with P4HT 3.4Ghz, ATI X600 Mobility 256 and 1Gb of DDR RAM I have gotten this games to run under Vista x86 Madden 2006 NHL 2005 (same menu stuff as above) Rainbow 6 III: Raven Shield with latest patch Blackhawk Striker 2 Collapse! 2 Unreal 2 with latest patch Unreal with 226 final patch Sims 2 DVD Edition with latest patch Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne with latest patches
Games that don't work: Need For Speed Most Wanted. I can't it to run properly on any Vista, just seems really slow like the timing is off. Battlefield 2 for Vista x86, but I'm working on it Blackhawk Striker 2 for Vista x64, works for XP Pro x64 though SimBin GTR but I'm trying to work around it and get it on Vista x86...it won't even install since Vista isn't supported *GTR 2 is supposed to have 64-bit support and possibly Vista, so they told me in an e-mail Collapse! 2 on Vista x64 Unreal runs on XP Pro x64 but too fast, timing is off Any suggestions on getting BF2 working on Vista x86 would be greatly appreciated!!
